Our Origin

At 6 Dames LLC, we are driven by a deep passion for African literature and a desire to share the rich cultural heritage of our home country with the world. Our inspiration comes from personal experiences and a strong family legacy in writing.

Growing up, our founder’s father was a renowned African writer, and the love for storytelling and literature was instilled at an early age. With the dream of preserving and translating his father’s work into English, our founder embarked on a journey to make African stories accessible to a broader audience.

Through dedicated efforts, we successfully translated one of his father’s books into English, which was a significant milestone. However, we didn’t stop there. Our vision expanded beyond the translation of his father’s works to include the translation of other African authors as well. By doing so, we aim to spread the creativity, beauty, and diversity of African culture to a global audience.

While translations are an essential part of our mission, we also aspire to write and create our own books. Currently, we have one children’s book under our belt, inspired by the founder’s own children. The book focuses on African culture, aiming to help children born in America stay connected to their African roots. We have two more children’s books on the way, each designed to foster a love for literature and a deeper understanding of African culture.
